Private Home:Westbrook,CT

Posted in Nature, Out & About |

Some people have a knack for casual decorating that ends up being magical. This house is an example of that as exemplified by placing a too large painting in a bureau in a powder room. Some people are also lucky as was the case with this friend who lives on the water. Amazingly her house was spared any damage while down the street there was sand and mud being bulldozed away and many homes were having water pumped out of them.

Evidently each restroom at the firm is different. I popped into a couple before deciding to use this one. Best part of the evening was being distracted from the approach of Sandy by the super documentary about the Hospital Albert Schweitzer project in Deschappels, Haiti. It is a sister city of Essex. The Film was made by a graphic designer friend of mine and her 18 year old son. An amazing first effort.

I like photographing colonnades and this reflection of lights and lines caught my eye. If you happen to be in the area, and aren't freaking out about the storm, come see the interior designer vignettes, do some shopping in the boutique and take in a lecture. All for the benefit of Child and Family Agency. Plenty of time for lunch as well. Support the economy before we are all flooded out or blown away.

After picking up my pants at Angie Lu, the go to alteration shop on the shoreline whose owner who I thought would be Asian, but turned out to be Italian, and a cup of soup at RJJulia bookstore, where they now know be by name as I go so often, I took my dog for a walk on the beach. It is such a lovely, long stretch of sand and though there were clouds, the breeze was not too cold. The beach was practically empty though there was one man scanning for coins and other (?)metals. Don't know if he found any.Obeyed the rules and kept Walter on his leash.Last time he peed on some guy's tackle bag and he got really angry. I thought it was pretty funny myself.

Since I was last here Julia got proper.curtain rods. She was embarrassed to be shot with taped up curtains. The power of the blogger. Next time she may have extra rolls in the paper holder.

AIr France:CDG to JFK

Posted in Commercial Space |

As you can see, this flight has all the Clarins amenities. Wish they had hand cream as well as facial products. Since I peed 7 times on this trio, my hands got very dry from all the rinsing oh yes. I was able to do some yoga stretches in here.

Air France:CDG to JFK

This restroom is almost large enough to do yoga in. Actually I think I will be able to so standing postures. 7 hr flight predicted which is good since we will be leaving almost 1 hrs late. Was looking forward to a leisurely stroll through the high end shops, but due to my delayed arrival, only had time to dash though the duty free to buy one dark chocolate bar, 2 bottles of Chablis and 3 cheeses. Once on board the captain announces a further delay of 25 minutes. Oh well.

Okay- I lied, but I couldn't resist showing you this sanitizer that was actually in the stall. That really seems to be taking germ control to a code orange level.

Think I am pointing out the toilet brush again? Wrong. Focus on the black rubber knob. You step on it to flush. Very eco-aware here. The escalators and walkways do not function until you step on them. I will not admit to how long it took me to figure that out and it isn't even that early in the morning. Won't bore you with endless WC shots here for my flight is delayed due to a euro air traffic controllers strike. Maybe I will have to spend the night in Paris, my stop off on the way home. Quell domage :)
