How appropriate that someone who spent his career traveling the world's exotic places would have such an unusual powder room ensemble. Can you see the little frog at the bottom if the sink and the piece of shale that makes the soap shelf? Not visible us the vine mural that snakes out of the wrought iron twig like towel bar and toilet paper holder. Very cool.

In deference to the James Turrell exhibit which I am here seeing for the second time, I am taking a photo from under the light fixture in the stall. Light is what Turrell is all about as an artist. If you have not been to this stunning exhibit, try to go before the end of the month. And see the 2 short and informative videos in the basement about his work. Check out the hours they are shown first.

I have never seen a toilet seat with a built in handle for raising it. Has it always been there and I am just now noticing it or is it a recent addition? And why would you need this in a women only restroom?

Arthur Ashe Stadium:US Open, NY

Good thing there are only a few matches left in the tournament since in this case X marks the spot where the toilet is broken. Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka are slugging it out for the Women's title. Pretty thrilling to be here.

Shell Station:Greenwich,CT

Really it is hard for me to imagine the town of Greenwich allowing a gas station to have a port a potty instead of a proper restroom. And if it did, that it wouldn't insist on the luxury rather than the construction site version. Sort if pathetic that I can rarely make it into NYC without resorting to a pit stop at this easy on easy off I95 exit 3 station. My reward will be to go directly to my box seats for the Women's Finals at the US Open without stopping to pee. Fat chance!

Plenty of stalls here and super clean. Think the Open could learn a thing or 2. What am I doing here? Allman Brothers concert - center section - row N. Binoculars! idon't need no stinkin'binoculars!

As forecast, an entirely different world.

Evidently they take the door locking seriously here. Despite the apparently dilapidated fixtures, everything functioned. On my way to Piping Rock Club in Lo use Valley for a Memorial service. From one extreme to another.

Any place that has red in the restroom is okay with me. And if I am about to see a match between Azarenka and Hantuchova.

Really. Running out of towels when you are only in business for two weeks of the year seems irresponsible. How lucky am I to have a brother with a court side box and tickets he gives away to family when he can't get there?
