Not all public toilets are decrepit. This one was top notch. Located on the grounds of what was once a hospital and is now filled with lovely shops and restaurants. A couple of short blocks away we threaded through a maze of local shopping streets all of them dusty in the 90 degree heat and overloaded with pedestrians, cars, merchandise and food carts.

When I go to a spot that has stones or shells, I tend to bring a few home to bring their energy into my everyday life. Clearly these folks understand that inclination. Love that they have them lining this old porcelain sink. They do seem to have been a bit confused about the color of the stall. Looks like they tried it all fuchsia to start and then decided to repaint the door gold. Works for me. And did I forget to rave about the classes here? Consider them raved about.

All these private clubs have a similar feel, but the chintz in this restroom really brought me back to my grandmother's apartment at the Pierre Hotel. Quite a contrast from my afternoon in the edgy shops and galleries of Chelsea. Heard a panel from the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center speak about the state of the disease. Good news- there will not only be better management, but also a cure. The science is there. Need you to send money.

Sophisticated interior with excellent Italian food. Maya was a friend of Judd's daughter who accompanied her to Marfa after the death of her father... and never left. A theme of many of those we met over the last several days- many of them New Yorkers.

4 little mermaids are we venturing onto land this afternoon to do a better clean up for our fancy farewell dinner. Had to motor the full 9 hours from Anguilla as there was little wind. Good sunbathing day with no clouds and warm temps. Also time to polish the chrome and read our books.

Thought I had left the squat toilets behind, but evidently not. This one I seen more confusing as it doesn't have the indications which tell you where to place your feet. (Just kidding.) Seems quite clean if not spacious.

You need good knees to manage these toilets are more than an occasional basis. Incense was burned to keep any odors away. Well, this is the Dahli lama's winter palace after all.

You never know when you will find a sign you have never seen before or guess what it will say.

The ladies in the restroom were surprised when I snapped this shot. Nothing unusual about squatting for them. Guess they don't have the knee issues so many Americans suffer from. Glad I am still, barely, nimble enough to get down and up.

Looks like a mug shot. Guess it is the cleaning person on duty. No one stays anonymous I guess.
