Never did figure out what these hoses in the public rest rooms are for. I could guess, but will let your imaginations work on it.

This might have the best Feng shui as well as eye appeal of any bathroom I have been privileged to use. Certainly it has jumped to the top of my hotel list for this trip and possibly any I have taken. And just look at the view!

Thought I had left the squat toilets behind, but evidently not. This one I seen more confusing as it doesn't have the indications which tell you where to place your feet. (Just kidding.) Seems quite clean if not spacious.

You never know when you will find a sign you have never seen before or guess what it will say.

The ladies in the restroom were surprised when I snapped this shot. Nothing unusual about squatting for them. Guess they don't have the knee issues so many Americans suffer from. Glad I am still, barely, nimble enough to get down and up.

As one might expect, a perfect orchid that I had to touch to be certain it was real.

Looks like a mug shot. Guess it is the cleaning person on duty. No one stays anonymous I guess.

The Monastery Hotel:Cusco,Peru

I had heard from friends who visited Cusco that this was a special hotel and so it was. Any place that puts a blue ribbon around the bath may and the tub may is one with attention to detail. The rooms were filled with wonderful reproductions of religious art and the aura I those who had been before us infused the entire complex with a decided serenity; at least until 3am in the morning when fireworks began calling people to the cathedral to celebrate the latest festival. The food was superb with lots of quinoa which was to my liking. One of our Peruvian guides told me they use the cooked grain with apples in a blender to make a breakfast drink. I plan to try it when I get home. A nutritious and delicious meal. No wonder Peruvian cuisine is becoming so popular.

Is it my imagination or are people getting friendlier at the airports? Still nice to have an airline lounge to escape to for layovers which are almost always inevitable these days, especially having risen at 5:15 to start the journey.
