Have you ever seen fixtures this color? I haven't. I do have a frequently worn DKNY tee like it which may be why I find it so appealing. Can you see the shell on the sink in its little stand and the reflection of the embroidered hand towels in the mirror? So beachy

Hard to tell, but tis shelf is made of metal...I thought maybe zinc, nbut looking at this shot, it seems to have too much color for that. When I exited, I noticed that the floor tiles seemed to be made of the same material. By the way, lovely Italian food, lightly prepared and great decaf cappuccino.

There is a certain stained glass quality to the color and pattern of these tiles and the plastic calla lily certainly confirms the sacredness of this building.

This tile pattern and palette reminded me of stained glass. Was it just because I was at the divinity school? Well attended art opening for Ellen Priest. If you are in the vicinity, go see her show Mon- Fri from 9 to 5 thru June. Colorful and lively and sometimes stunningly beautiful collaged works based on jazz compositions.

In addition to a colorful pallet and a sense of humor- as witnessed by the penguin sculpture in this shower- this house also houses the most amazing collection of folk art I have ever seen.  There are treasures and curiosities everywhere from floor to ceiling. All wonderfully placed.

You can only get the tiniest clue of the colors in this house from this shot of her powderroom.  She is a documentary filmmaker and the dinner she threw for me included a sculptress who was in the Venice Bienalle, an art collector, a writer and an art consultant.  My kind of group.

Hadn't been to this tony upper east side French bistro in years. It was even better than I remembered. i love the floor tile.  Very retro in a good way.

Sorry I could not get this photo to load the right way, but the floor tile was actually what I was featuring, so I guess it doesn't matter that the pedestal sink is sideways. I am not crazy about the downstairs meeting rooms, but the one I was at today is on an upper floor with French doors leading onto a large terrace.  Its high ceiling has skylights and it feels like being in a modern loft- enhanced by the contemporary art on the walls- rather than a stuffy old club.

I love the idea of accessories as wall hangings.  Nice color for a single woman's bathroom.  Makes me want to light a candle, draw a bubble bath and find some hadsome guy to do my nails.

Destinta Theater: Middletown, CT

Classy look I think. How many movie theaters have color coordinated waste cans on top of being reasonably clean? Saw Iron Lady. Meryl Streep is my hero. She is an amazing actress and I thought it was a good film despite being from the dementia affected point of view of Mrs. Thatcher.
