Lunch with the in laws... My son's that is.
Strange sign. Don't know the meaning and there was the regular hand washing sign by the sink. This is my son's favorite restaurant in Boston. Rivals Chester's River Tacern in his book and I have to say we had a fantastic meal with taste bud popping dishes.
Strange mishmash of furnishings here. Delightful lunch with my son- he had Caesar salad and steamed mussels and I had a beet, pistachio and goat cheese salad on arugula- outside in the sunshine. Had to share with the fall bees, but there was enough to go around. It proved a perfect place to meet to pass back his dog who I have watched for the past 10 days. Two hours for him to drive and 45 minutes for me, plus a free lunch.Seems totally fair to me.
So, my son is getting married to this wonderful woman and her sister-in-law gave a wedding shower for her. Full of slender, smiling, vodka punch guzzling lovlies. The day was glorious and it was a great time for all. You should have seen her blush when the gift box with black lace lingerie was opened.
This is not a reflection, but in fact a restroom set up as a mirror image on right and left. Kind of weird. A well deserved and delicious dinner after move in day for my eldest son and his wife who are now homeowners. Want to come back here in the summer to sit on the deck and appreciate the water view.
A neighborhood nail salon whose restroom is minimal, but striving to add a bit of interest. The staff is entirely Aisian, which is pretty common, and the manicures are quick and efficient. I was heading to my son's engagement party, so wanted a sprucing up of my minimal and uneven nails. One day I will stop picking them I hope. Feels like I am calm enough after this spa week to manage it.
Here's a restroom sign I haven't seen before. Fits the character of this charming and popular eatery. I have twice had brunch in the back open courtyard and it is a treat both for the setting, with lots of plantings along the edges, as well as the food which is fresh and well proportioned. This morning we, my two sons and their brides, had a brand new waitress, so the service waas a bit confused, but with the sun and warm air pouring over us, who cared.
Happy Birthday Susanella! Not a lot on the menu for someone like me who is on a pre-cleanse diet- no dairy, no meat, no bread, you get the idea. Opted for the spinach salad sans bacon dressing. It was fresh and delicious. Maybe not quite as delicious as the portabello and asparagus pannini that the birthday girl enjoyed. What this print has to do with anything, I don't know and why there were two identical ones in the same restroom is a bigger mystery.
This is my day to notice floor drains. As befits this trendy eatery, with excellent locally sourced cuisine, the drain was new and shiny. After a couple of hours of helping my son and daughter-in-law with their wedding registry choices, this was a welcome dining choice.
Came here to help my son and his fiancee register for china and stemware and odds and ends. The best collection anywhere. Not cheap, but you only get married once... we hope.
