O’Hare Airport: Chicago

Not all airport restroom are alike. Suprisingly clean and attractive. Quick connection to my CA destination, so no time to sample any of the retail offerrings.

Yale Divinity School: New Haven, CT

This tile pattern and palette reminded me of stained glass. Was it just because I was at the divinity school? Well attended art opening for Ellen Priest. If you are in the vicinity, go see her show Mon- Fri from 9 to 5 thru June. Colorful and lively and sometimes stunningly beautiful collaged works based on jazz compositions.

David Burke Kitchen: Manhattan

This is my day to notice floor drains. As befits this trendy eatery, with excellent locally sourced cuisine, the drain was new and shiny. After a couple of hours of helping my son and daughter-in-law with their wedding registry choices, this was a welcome dining choice.

Reststop: Natick, MA

Much to my surprise, this is a live plant... in a roadside reststop... next to the sanitary supplies vending machine.  Nice touch.

DMV: Tortola

Cars have to be registered anually on this island. Guess they want to make sure the lights and such aren't rusted out. When the DMV was downtown, it was a half day adventure in waiting. Now there is a spiffy new building midway between the east and west ends of the island and 5 minutes from where I stay. The entire process, as there was no one in fornt of me, took less than half an hour. Of course much of this was taken up with the hand writting of various reports and receipts. Look how nice the restroom is.

American Wing, Metropolitan Museum: Manhattan

A beautiful restroom which reflects the sumptuous new American wing itself.  This is more like what I would have expected in the Member's Dining Room.

Member’s Dining Room, Metropolitan Museum: Manhattan

Posted in Commercial Space |

This restroom is fine, but a long walk from the dining room and nothing special, unlike the dining room itself which has a reserved and elegant atmosphere partially created by its wall of slanting windows overlooking Central Park.  The food is delicious and the clientelle is interesting to observe if your lunch partner isn't.
